Accessible Design Services

Accessibleware offers a wide variety of services to help in the design of accessible web sites and applications. These can range from complete site design to the production of a style guide. Accessibleware encourages a meeting with your IT professionals (and if an intranet is involved, a meeting with a small sector of your daily users) in an effort to assess the typical user patterns and needs. Accessibleware highly encourages integration of input from your organization, so as to successfully meet your user's / target audience's needs.

Accessibility Analysis

Accessibleware offers a top-down review of an organization's accessibility, and provides detailed recommendations for remediation and integration of accessibility throughout your organization.

This analysis includes:

· An executive briefing of accessibility concepts, principals, and integration issues

· Meetings with development staff to determine specific accessibility concerns with existing products and services

· Facilitation of accessibility re-organization within the enterprise

· Subject matter expert support in specific areas of law, policy, information technology, telecommunications, and assistive technology.

· Development of quality assurance tools to facilitate accessibility of new products and services.

· Organization wide training on issues related to people with disabilities

· Generation of informational literature for organization wide dissemination.

Certification

  • This review includes assessment of compliance with section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, State and local laws and regulations related to accessibility, and any applicable international law.

  • A report is generated providing certification of independent review for those products meeting the legal requirements, and remediation steps for IT failing to meet the requirements.

  • Accessibleware Certification lasts for one year, and is available for:

    • Entire organizations (must undergo accessibility analysis as described above)

    • Individual products and services: Accessibleware offers a comprehensive review and assessment of an IT product or service of the organization

    • All products and services: Good for current versions on date of issuance

Technical Integration Support

Accessibleware offers technical support on meeting legal and functional requirements for assisting people with disabilities. Our unique staff of IT professionals, Physician, Physical Therapist and Nurses helps bridge the IT requirements with the various disabilities. Each of our senior staff has had atleast 10 years of experience in their area of expertise. Our focus in technical integration is on the efficiences possible with disability in mind.

  • Integrating and implementing solutions

  • Providing ongoing support services

WebSite Accessibility Assessments

Accessibleware can assess the accessibility of your site and make recommendations on modifications to improve site accessibility. The details of this varies with the size and complexity of the site. Accessibleware personnel will examine and assess the accessibility of the site in consultation with your staff. Accessibleware will issue a detailed estimate of the implementations needed to be undertaken, as part of our accessibility assessment. Accessibleware will complete the assessment and supply the following:

· Site accessibility assessment report

· Recommendations for improving the accessibility of the site

· Recommendations to meet local and national standards & laws

· Possible solutions that will help make the restructuring scalable

Consulting on Electronic and Information Technology Projects

Besides internet and intranet solutions, Accessibleware in conjunction with your staff, is well poised to provide solutions that meet current accessibility guidelines as it relates to your electronic and information technology projects. This will help increase the scope of your projects so as to allow for greater inclusion of not only staff members, but the public alike.

Tutorials on the Accessible Site Design

Accessibleware can help educate your staff on current issues pertaining to accessibility, in particular the various laws. Accessibleware will gladly train your staff to design sites that are accessible to the largest audience possible. Accessibleware personnel are available to teach tutorials on accessible site design. This tutorials can be customized for your exact needs. In order to be effective, an initial assessment will be required so as to assess the scope needed for the tutorial and the size and skill level of the target audience. Accessibleware prefers to conduct these tutorials on-site and in person, as opposed to creating digital tutorials or teaching via a distance. Our experience has shown that audiences feel free to speak more openly about an area as delicate as disability when encouraged in a nurtured environment and furthermore it is easier to deal with subtle questions in person.

Presentations and Demonstrations of Accessible Web Design Techniques

Accessibleware® is available to make presentations at trade shows and conferences on the techniques used to design and produce accessible web sites.
